Computer

- The students are basically supposed to use LINUX -

General works can be done on LINUX for free such as making documentations and presentation slides, and numerical simulations. Especially, Debian is recommended for use due to its simplicity to install and update various application software. Though the knowledge on LINUX is not required at the beginning, it is essential to make efforts to manage it, which could lead academic capability as well.

Examples of software tools
Documentation pLaTeX
Presentation slide TgifCProsper
Numerical simulation MATLAB(non free)CScilab
Graph Gnuplot
Image Gimp

- About the use of Windows -

Windows is capable for the use of commercial simulator, development tool and so on. However, commercial MS office software are banned except the case it is requested by the outsiders like project cooperators and the university. Presentation should be done with pdf files using Adobe Reader etc., instead of PowerPoint.
