Activity Report  (June 2002October 2002)

(1)       Following Domestic Conferences and Meetings were (or will be) cooperated with Society of Atmospheric Electricity of Japan , IEICE Japan and IEE Japan.

1.             On June 20, July 18, September 20 and October 22-23 2002 the committee meetings on EMC organized by IEICE were held at Kikai Shinko Kaikans, Kyoto University and Tohoku University respectively. The numbers of presented papers were 12, 11, 9 and 26.  IEICE is organizing this technical committee meeting regularly every month except February and August.

2.             The IEE Japan was organizing the technical committee meetings on EMC on July 12 2002. The meeting concentrated on the issue of the Seismo-EM phenomena. The meeting on the same topics will be held on January 17, 2003. January 17 is the memorial day of Kobe big earth quake.

3.             The 67th Annual meeting of SAEJ was held on July 16 and 17 at Kochi University. Thirty-five regular papers and one-invited talks were presented.  There were about 50 participants. The 68th will be held at Denkituusin University in January 7-8. The dead line for the presentation is November 15.

(2)       International Conferences and Meetings

1.             Sixteenth International Wroclaw Symposium and Exhibition on EMC were held from June 25 through 28, 2002.

2.             International Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission Science Conference was held at Hyatt Regency Waikiki in Honolulu, Hawaii from July 22 to 26, 2002.

3.             15th International Zurich Symposium & Technical Exhibition on Electromagnetic Compatibility will be held from February 18 to 20.

4.             The 2003 IEEE International Symposium on EMC will be held from May 11 to 16 in Istanbul, Turkey. The original location of the symposium was Tel Aviv, Israel, but the relocation under the deep consideration was announced.

5.             12th International Conference on Atmospheric Electricity will be held in Paris in June, 2003. Two hundred and fifty abstracts have been received. The reviewing process is ongoing.
